When you do family photography in Utah you pretty much have to be a weather expert. I worried all week long about the weather for the Torricelli Family. I originally was going to shoot their family photos at Jordan Pines in Big Cottonwood Canyon, However, after the forecast of snow, I decided to go elsewhere for three reasons. First, the canyon may close for avalanche problems. Second, the canyon, will be extra busy, with skiers. And third, the new snow would bring extra sledders that I would have to photoshop out.
So after a lot of research I narrowed it down to Temple Quarry, which was BEAUTIFUL and a lovely park on the east bench of Sandy with lots of snow and great views. The family decided on the park because they didn't have to walk too far in the snow. It was a great decision.
The Torricelli Family was so much fun. There son-in-law Jefferson is a good friend of my son and I am so glad he referred me to the family. They were great sports and were pretty much game for anything I tried.
I really love working with families in the snow. We are so lucky to have four beautiful seasons here in Utah for such beautiful family photography!
